A 15th birthday party is a latina tradition. At age 15, Latina girls become young women. After going to church, we have a big party. Families pay for the clothes, the cake, the party...The girls wears a pink or white dress. A beautiful dresses.
There can be 14 people in total: 7 boys and 7 girls. The "quinceañera" can choose 14 maids of honour. They represent her 14 years of childhood. The boys escort the maids of honour. The wear suits or tuxedos.
During the party, I dance with your father, and then with your mother. Then your mother puts a tiara on your head.
Your father takes off your flat shoes and puts on your first pair of high heels.
